Franck Leprince

Leader of the Orchestra

 Franck studied Violin with the eminent Hungarian violinist Nicholas Roth, at the Trinity College of Music, London, before embarking on a 25-year orchestral career as a state musician and leader in Britain’s oldest orchestra, the Royal Artillery State Orchestra (est.1762). He studied in Dortmund and Frankfurt (where he completed his doctorate in Konzertmeisterschaft in 1987) with Egmont Gansz and Hugo Schauerte. In 1997 he became an instructor at the Royal Military School of Music, where he taught Arranging and Orchestration.  Franck is immensely proud to have worked with amongst others, Vera Lynn, Harry Secombe, Nigel Kennedy, Roger Whittaker, Cliff Richard, Status Quo, and the New Seekers, and to have performed on many occasions for Her Majesty the Queen.  His string quartet and orchestral arrangements in particular are regularly performed in several countries and also appear on YouTube and Spotify. Franck is the co-founder of the Veterans’ Orchestra of the United Kingdom, and a member of the Royal Society of Musicians. He has led our orchestra for over twenty years and also provides the artwork for our posters and programmes.  We are very lucky to have his expertise.
